Field Notes

Short reflections from a practice in progress.

These notes emerge from the everyday work of leadership: meetings, feedback, decisions, moments of repair, and the quiet places where power shows up in the body.

They are not conclusions or instructions, but an attempt to notice what happens when leadership is practiced with consent, attention, and care - and to share what feels worth holding onto. Details are anonymized or shared with consent.

Holding everything with two hands

Every morning I spend a few slow moments with my coffee cup grasped in both hands, taking in the aroma; tasting the bitterness; experiencing the warmth, flavors, and sensastions. It's a moment of mindfulness and awareness, but it's also a practice of building capacity for a kind of intentionality and wholehearted presence that extends far beyond that cup of coffee.
